Many cities have not received the funding and support for the urban forest that was expected since the research community has quantified the utilitarian values of trees. And furthermore, the Urban Forest is threatened with permanent reductions due to the building boom. One of the main causes in Seattle is the partial incorporation of the Smart Growth land use theory.
